Any good antibiotic ointment, covered with a band aid. Change band aid and re apply ointment every 24 hours at least. neosporin, polysporin, bactroban, fucidin are all good.Any ointment suitable for the exposed nail bed?
Ouch! There are some antibiotic creams that have a pain killer in them--that's what I'd use. Otherwise, I'd look in the cabinet for the antibiotic cream and a band aid to keep the air and dirt off it, but change the band aid often.
