HELP!!! my ferret has got his nail's caught on a bed that they got and now hes very skinny..READ?

HELP!!! my ferret has got his nail's caught on a bed that they have in the cage i don't know how long he was stuck for.. but when i notice he was dehydrated and very skinny and he couldn't walk [back legs didn't move that much] so its been 2 weeks... i fed him and gave him plenty of water everyday..but he hasn't got any better or worse ...HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO??HELP!!! my ferret has got his nail's caught on a bed that they got and now hes very skinny..READ?
He needs a vet, NOW.








In the mean time, get some Stage 2 Gerber baby food - chicken, turkey or veal - and thin it with a lil water. Feed it to him several times a day. This will boost his energy and put some weight back on him.





Make sure he eats and drinks and keep an eye on his poo - the size and texture of it. And how often he poos.











Ferret poo tells you a lot about their general health. The fact that you dont know this worries me.








AlaskanFerret brings up a good point. Your ferret's leg could be broken. He needs treatment. If you dont know how long your ferret was stuck for, then he clearly isnt getting enough time out of the cage and attention.





If you cant or wont bring him to a vet, then you need to give him up to a shelter that handles ferrets. If his leg is broken, he will lose the leg or even die.











....3 days?! You NEVER leave a ferret ALONE for 3 days!! This is a prime example of WHY.... never mind the fact that they could break their teeth while attacking the bars of their cage in an attempt to get out. Or strangle themselves while trying to break free from a cheap cage. *rubs her forehead* Get him to a vet. NOW.








And you might love him, but you clearly dont know enough about ferrets. Either increase your knowledge about them as a whole, or give him to some one who already knows.











Er..... no. Ferrets are obligate carnivores. They dont have the organ needed to digest fruits, grains and veggies. You want just turkey, chicken or veal with gravy.





One jar wont hurt him, but if you have any more, return them and get him the straight meat ones.











I'll repeat. NO FRUITS, GRAINS OR VEGGIES. Rice is a grain. Corn is a grain and should NEVER be given to ferrets.

Why the hell did you buy him turkey and veggies?? NO chicken and rice is not good!








ONLY feed 100% MEAT baby food. Nothing with veggies. Has he been stuck on his bed for 2 weeks and you never noticed?! How irresponsible! You cannot leave a ferret without anything and alone for 3 days in its cage!





Did you go to the vet yet? You're starving him! I cannot believe you are waiting 2 weeks to get help!





You should not have a pet.
Get him to a vet right away.


He could die without proper assistance.
