Is cyanosis, blue nail beds, an emergency with asthma?

My husband has asthma. He has been having to use his rescue inhaler a lot more lately. Now, his fingernail beds are blueish. Is this a medical emergency, or can he wait to see his primary tomorrow? Is cyanosis, blue nail beds, an emergency with asthma?
if this is happening it would be a good idea to take him to an emergency room near you. it means that he is not getting enough oxygen in his blood. i would not wait to see the doctor tomorrow they will be able to help him now.Is cyanosis, blue nail beds, an emergency with asthma?
Take him to the ER now. Cyanosis is a sign of low oxygen. He needs to be in alot of respiratory distress to have acute cyanosis. He probably needs oxygen and if it is bad enough eithe a ventilator or bipap to support his breathing and allow his body to rest.
If he is having acute symptoms, then yes, it's an emergency. Time to go to the ER if he's not getting enough oxygen.
