Will my thumbnail reattach itself after being totally separated from the nail bed?

After putting together a swing set I went to put a cap over the LAST screw lol and my thumb slipped. It totally came off the nail bed and was bleeding (not badly). Then last night again after rubbing acetone on it to remove my fake nail that was still on it (strong suckers lol) it accidentally bumped it and I got to see exactly how far down the separation was.. its all the was down to the 'moon'. Now when I clean it with peroxide it seems to be attaching itself back? Is this possible? Ive kept it clean and bandaged, so Im wondering if it wont fall off?Will my thumbnail reattach itself after being totally separated from the nail bed?

It will not reattach itself. The new fingernail will grow out beneath it and the old part will eventually fall off. Sometimes, as it gets looser and looser, you end up pulling it off so you don't continue catching it on things. Most people who do this wear a bandaid so that they don't catch it on anything.
