no..again LOL...somehow this reminds me of Gone with the Wind when Prissy tells Scarlett to put a knife under the mattress when Melanie is having the baby because it 'cuts the pain in two' LOL i loved that! At least maybe that has some possibility..(the pain of the knife might distract you from the labor pain).
i've never heard of it...and i dont believe it either...superstitious...
