Lengthening the nail bed?

as a child I would bite my nails and now i have a short nail bed. I haven't bitten my nails in years but the nail bed is not growing back...some say that it should grow back after you stop biting, and some say that the nail bed may be too traumatized.

Is there any way that I can get it to grow back?Lengthening the nail bed?
You may be able to have a slight bit of recovery by trying to keep your nails a little longer, and making sure that the cuticle around the outside of your nail and underneath the white tip of your nail remains moisturized and healthy. There are moisturizing cuticle oils and treatments that you can use daily for this type of intense moisturization. I would think that it would take at least 4 to 6 months to really start to see a difference, just based on how fast your nails grow to begin with and how diligent you are with their care.
