He was limping lastnight and now he is acting fine. It doesnt look that bad but it was bad enough to start bleeding. I feel bad for him. Please let me know what I need to do.My dog's toe nail or nail bed is bleeding. Do I need to take him to the vet? Or can I do Anything to help him?
you can put flour on it if it is bleeding. You probably dont need to see a vet at least not immediately. if it eases your mind though you could make an appointment, but for now flour is commonly used to stop blood flow for when their nails are cut too short it should work in this situation as well.My dog's toe nail or nail bed is bleeding. You may have clipped it too short :( We accidentally did that to our chihuahua and we just left her alone so we didn't stress her out, we watched her and she seemed to be fine though. I think you should just check to see how short the nail is and maybe even hold him with a towel to see how bad it's bleeding. Hopefully he is ok! :)
if the toe nails are long?? then it really hurts dogs to walk on hard wood florrs, or even carpet. Take him to the vet to get them trimmed and he should be fine, if you cut his nials and they were bleeding its because you cut them to short and dogs have vails in thier nails causing them to bleed.
Its probably not anything major. Paws are very bloody parts of a dog's body so even minor injuries can bleed and be painful. Keep him calm and let him take it a little easy, and it can't hurt to call your vet and ask, but you shouldn't be concerned.
You should call your vet to see if there is anything you can put on it. If the nail broke off clear back to the base it could get infected. I would also suggest that start watching his nail length and clip them when they get long.
You might have went in the quick.
Try getting a tool called ';petipaws'; Its a really great tool used to cut there nails. I think you can go to www.petipaws.com
goodluck!
EDIT: if you look somewhere on there website, you can see a
lady cut a huskys nails.and then a few labs and small yorkies and things.
Ya, and try cutting his nails..... they might be 2 long and that could be why so if it does start bleeding you should go to the vet.
He might have stubbed it on something but if it starts to bleed again you should call the vet.
