My daughter got her finger shut in a door and the finger nail lifted off her nail bed..?

..so i cut it all down to almost the bottom so it wouldnt tear off...it looks terrible.. Will her nail grow back? She doesnt have any nail on her finger other then a little sliver at the bottom...My daughter got her finger shut in a door and the finger nail lifted off her nail bed..?

Yes, it'll grow back in a few months or so. Nails never stop growing.
first off, i'm sorry this happened. that is one of the most painful things! because she still has a sliver on the bottom, i think it will grow back. just keep it clean and bandaged. i had an injury like this. my porch door slammed so hard on my pinky finger that it amputated the tip and chipped the bone. my doctor didn't think my nail would survive but it did. it's just curved now, but it's there. my mom used a lot of saline to clean my finger, especially the stitches and the part that had no nail. also, you could go to walgreens and buy one of those finger caps and position it on the finger so that the top of is slightly above the fingertip, then use bandage tape to secure it. this way, your daughter's finger is protected and nothing will directly bump it and it allows for ventilation. i hope she feels better soon. just keep it clean is my main advice.
