I smashed my finger in a car door now the nail bed is turning purple. Will the nail evenutally come off?

As a teenager ( a couple of years ago! ) I smashed my finger in the car door. It bled terribly. My uncle took a sterilized knife and bore a small hole into the nail to relieve the pressure. It remained horribly purple for weeks and the nail came off. Another nail replaced it, although it did take a while.I smashed my finger in a car door now the nail bed is turning purple. sorry to hear that! it can take 6-9 months to grow back.
It might just be a bad bruise, but if the nail does come off it will grow back....it just tkes a long time.
I am in the same situation right now. Its been purple for 5 weeks and nothing has fallen off yet, though I hear that it could happen. But it will grow back if it does.

The discolored pigment will disappear eventually.

wait... soon you will be gifted with powers from god. your finger will be healed and you can do amazing tricks with that finger. try zapping someone or moving something without touching it
