How does a bed of nails work?

I assume that you are talking about a real bed of nails and not the electical test fixture by that name.

First, individual nails usually aren't all that sharp, so it takes a fair amount of force to get one to puncture the skin. Second, the surface of skin is resiliant and will tend to spread the force over a larger area than would happen with an unyielding surface. Third, the more nails you have, and if they are all carefully made to be the same length, the large number of suspension points will spread the recliner's weight over more area than fewer suspension points would. The upshot is that the bed would be uncomfortable but would not seriously damage the skin of a careful recliner. How does a bed of nails work?
Very prickly I'm sure. How does a bed of nails work?
It disburses the amount of pressure put on each nail. By spreading your weight out over many nails, each nail has relatively little pressure placed on it, making it more difficult to puncture your skin.
Bed of nails has so many nails right. So the weight of ur body is split and balanced by so many nails.

Since there are so many nails the pressure is quiet distributed to all the parts of ur body.

So there is no concentrated force acting on ur body.

Therefore it does not prick ur body.

The mg that is weight of the body is acting downwards.

The normal reaction is acting upwards from the nail that is most near to the centre.

The most funny thing in this is the centre of mass of the body is somewhere located in the air.

So this is how it works.

Reagards Harish.
each nail takes a small amount of your weight because they are so many of them. this is so you dont hurt yourself.
