I cut my index finger pretty deep recently while chopping parsley. It went through the nailbed and into the flesh beneath. Since most of the nail is severed, will nail still grow out and fall off? Or will I have to remove it surgically? Well... it depends. Does it hurt? If it hurts badly, it is better to be surgically removed because it could start digging into the nail bed. However, if it isnt hurting, keeping it clean and putting a bandage over it for the days coming till it heals should do the trick until the nail cycles in a new nail.
