My son was killed in a car accident. The medical examiners office reported cyanosis, blue nail beds, and said he lived for 30 minutes after the accident on the death certificate. The first man on the scene of the accident reported that my son was killed instantly. So I need to know, can cyanosis, blue nail beds occur when a person dies instantly? Can cyanosis, blue nail beds occur when a person dies instantly?
Cyanosis will always occur after death due to the cessation of circulation. The first person on scene often can't determine time of death. I'm an EMT. In order to determine an approximate time of death, someone trained in that field will have to examine the body. I'm very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong.
