Yellow nails separating from nail bed. Much thicker and bruised? What causes this?

I've only recently noticed the nails on my toes are all yellow, dry and on the big toes there is a big difference in the thickness, the newest grown part is a healthy colour and a lot thinner! The top has separated from the nail bed on the inside of both big toes, and there are bruises on them.

Does anyone know what causes this and if I should be doing anything to look after them?

Will the newly grown nail reattach to the nail bed?

I don't smoke or paint my nails.Yellow nails separating from nail bed. Much thicker and bruised? What causes this?
You have some type of fungus in your nails. Go to the doctorYellow nails separating from nail bed. Much thicker and bruised? What causes this?
Some kind of fungus maybe. Get a prescription from a doctor to clear it up.
Probably fungus infection. Apply imidazol cream. Not it will not reattach.
