I've snapped my nail at the nail bed, right across. is it best to leave the nail on or remove it?

hi there. my nail is snapped literally right across the nail bed and keeps flexing and hurting me every time it comes into contact with anything. I've done the traditional thing of sticking a plaster over it to reduce movement but its got worse. Should I remove the nail and start growing it or has anyone any other suggestions? Many thanks!I've snapped my nail at the nail bed, right across. is it best to leave the nail on or remove it?
Remove itttttt!

It hurts when you remove it at first, but the nail will grow in 3-4 weeks time. Don't cover it with anything, but try not to get it wet cos it'll sting!

I hope it recovers soon and I hope this helped!

go to a nail salon and they can offer advice. They have solutions such as:

1. gel fill on top

2. application of acrylic nail on top

3. superglue with or without gel fill

4. remove and add gel or artificial nail on remainder of nail

If you're not certain about repairs yourself, I'd go to a salon. They may not even charge you much if you only want the 1 nail repaired. They may want to entice you to become a regular customer. You can buy some of the gels and acrylic nails at drug stores (super-glues at hardware stores) and try at home if you're so inclined; but my experience with damaged nails (yes I'm a guy, straight, married, but very fussy about my nails) is to use the experts at a nail salon to fix something bad. They have a lot more experience doing that than I ever will. Besides, if it's on your wring hand how well can you do delicate work? Like if damage is on your writing hand?
hi I had exactly the same thing recently!!

it is REALLY painful so i sypathise with you

i got a pair or nail scissors [ fine ones]

and only cut the bit off that is actually come away

from the nail bed. do not pull the nail. especially if it

is not entirely off just cut it when bits come away as

otherwise the nail might grow back wrong.

also dont put anything on it like false nails as this

can cause infection. Buy some anticeptic cream with

some pain relief in this really helped me.

hope i helped (:

x
okay first is first take off the plaster to alow to nail to breath , and second leave it in its own time it will heal if u remove it , it will take longer to grow back and it will be very painful

hope this helped
I'd remove it if i wear you and let it grow.

If it wasn't hurting you I'd say leave it on but no :)
